When animals, as pigs, bābuy, or chickens, manu', are killed in sacrifice, some of the meat is usually eaten by the ritualists. Rice is provided to be eaten with the meat. This is especially common during the following rituals: ritual for a sick person, ma'āyiw; major blessing ritual, pāhang; ritual to call someone's soul back from the sun, opah; defense ritual to prevent or remedy misfortune, hagawhaw; final-day activities, deta', of headhunting enactment ritual, bahbah.
