Bund plaster of a pond field, rounded over the top of the bund and extending down the inner surface, covering the hard-packed earth undersurface, tapig, and joining the basin floor, pānad.
This layer is made of mud, ideally clay without stones, kneaded into a soft mass. The layer is about 5 cm. thick at the top and 12 cm. at the base.
