panu'būngan
An agricultural district ritual granary.
The following sacred articles are kept in this granary: rice god idols, būlul; a reliquary for blessing rituals, pun'amhan, in which are kept various relics from past sacrifices for the village; a sacred relic receptacle, binodbod, where small morsels of blessed rice and meat are kept; sacred bowls and pots for eating, to be used as rice beer vessels and for cooking rice and sacrificed meat. This granary is the site of various rituals performed for the entire village: rituals to initiate seedbed planting; worm eradication day, ālup, rituals; general harvest initiation, dūpag, rituals; harvest completion holiday, tūngaw hi īwang, rituals. In Batad, only seed rice bundles are kept in this granary; rice for consumption is kept in the house attic of the agricultural leader.
