An informal celebration is held in lieu of a more formal traditional ritual involving sacrificing of chickens and pigs. Typical occasions for a celebration: completion of the construction of a new house; marriage of a young couple, sponsored by parents of either of the couple; when newlyweds set up residence; to honor a dead relative; for a sick person.

For someone (agent muɴ-; s agent maN-) to butcher a chicken or pig (patient -on) with a knife, uwah (inst paN-), especially during a formal ritual such as pāhang, or during a small celebration, as described above, at harvest time, īwang, to have meat for harvesters, etc.
