A mother-of-pearl breast ornament.
Consists of about six mother-of-pearl pendants hanging on a cord around the neck. An heirloom. Pendants are largest at the center of the ornament, about 7 cm. long and 6 cm. wide, tapering to the top. Peripheral pendants become gradually shorter and narrower. Worn only by old men; it is taboo, panīaw, for a child to wear a breast ornament.
