An omo' herb, Gnaphalium japonicum [Comp].
Material from the plant stalk or seed pod is used as flint tinder, as described below.

Flint tinder; i.e., any material for lighting a fire with a flint, banteng, such as the heart of the banana stalk, or seed pod of an omo' plant. This material is broken into small pieces, crushed and rolled to soften it. It is mixed with warm ashes, kneaded and dried. Cotton fiber, āpoh 2, is also used as flint tinder.
