For someone (agent um-; s agent maN-, muɴ-) to split fibrous bark (patient -on) into threads with the fingernails (inst paN-).

This is done in making strands for weaving of the bark of various bushes, trees or vines; see list in table under linūbid. It is also done to prepare tying material from the alīnaw tree for bundling rice sheaves, and for other tying needs.
