hū'a
A hū'a tree, Thymeleaceae Wikstroemia.
Grows in forested areas. The outer skin, āgut is peeled off, the bark fiber is dried, pounded, spun into thread and woven into blankets for wrapping the dead. Unpounded fiber is used as head, arm and leg bands during a bahbah ceremony.
