A scoop-net for catching fish, swarming locusts.
Used in a river for catching fish such as eel, ekan, mudfish, bolog, small river fish, ekan, gadiw. The net has fine weave; it is about 1« m. in diameter, scoop-shaped, with a lip made out of a stout vine. It is operated by either dragging it with one lip section down, along the river bed, or by thrusting it downward, lip first. At night a fire is built to attract locusts, labbālab, which are scooped up with a scoop net.
