For someone (agent umi-) to make a false denial about someone, something, an event, a situation (theme i-) to someone else (loc ref -an).
Ihāut: focus may be on 1) a person or object of which an event or situation is denied.
Inhāut'uy pihhu' ti immālih Oltāgon an umūtang ya inali' di mi'id.
I made a false denial about my money because Oltāgon came to borrow (some) and I said that there was none.
Inhāut Banggiyaw di enghāna ti adīna ahan ibāag.
Banggiyaw made a false denial about his girlfriend because he will not in any way tell (about her);
2) an event or situation.
Inhāut'uy nangakāwa' hi pihhun han iba'.
I made a false denial about my taking of my brother's money.
Haūtan: focus is on someone to whom a false denial is made.
Inhaūta' hi Oltāgon ti wāda din pihhu' ya inali' di mi'id.
I made a false denial to Oltāgon because I had money and I said that there was none.
