Designs are made on shields, hapīaw, walls of houses, gāub, on pond-field dikes, banong, in weaving of cloth or baskets.

For someone (agent muɴ-; s agent maN-) to make a decorative design (theme) on something (loc ref -an), as described above, using a suitable instrument (inst i-, paN-).

A knife, uwah, or chisel, pa'ut, is used to carve designs into wood; a foot is used to make a footprint design in the soft mud when plastering a pond-field dike, pi'pi' 1b; different colors of yarn, linūbid, hamlaw, are used to weave designs into cloth; a forest vine, ngītu, is used to weave designs into uncooked rice baskets, ulbung.
