The walls of a traditional house, baluy, consist of vertical wall planks. The bottom ends are inserted into grooves in the tops of the outside floor beams, mundīlig, running along the house sides, and of the border floor planks, hagpaw di mundīlig, at the front and back. The top ends of the wall planks are held in place by wall-top border beams, hu'lub, grooved on the under side into which the plank ends are inserted.
