danggu
An onion plant, genus Allium.
Used as a condiment, lopot, in cooking and as a side dish. Varieties: hibūyas, lasūna, shallot; danggun mid lamohna Allium porrum, `a leek', lit. `onion without pulp'. The white bulb shallot, hibūyas, is most commonly grown.
