Canes are an important commodity. The following are among the uses: fencing, lūhud; fuel for fire, mitungu, pāul; roof construction: purlins, ībat; rafters, tuldug; thatch clamps, hīpit; sleeping mat, ātag; walls of a hut, deplat; ritual marker, pūdung.
