batū'ung
An exterior under-eaves shelf, of a traditional house, baluy.
It is positioned on one side and/or at the front or back of a house, below the floor of the interior wall shelf, padyay, attached to the wall, the front edge suspended by rattan from the inside rafters, ulhud. Used as a storage place for implements such as a digging bar, shovel; for placing chicken baskets at night. Some exterior shelves are closed with a wall at one end and door at the other, thus making a chicken coop.
