A river dam, placed in running water, constructed of stones.
The dam may be temporary, as when used to dry up a water course to catch fish, hālop. A dam constructed for this purpose uses clay and stone chips to seal off the water. A permanent irrigation diversion dam, bongbong2 1, which allows water to flow through it, is constructed to divert water into an irrigation canal.
