Usually the lip is made of a small rattan vine or a pāgal vine, tied on top of two rattan strips, pīti', which are on either side and hold the top or outer edge of the basket or hat weaving. The following baskets have lip rims: colander basket, hagda; cooked-rice storage basket, hū'up; locust basket, butit, bu'lut; rain basket, tudung; rain hat, ledaw; rice-fermenting basket, taggī'i; winnowing basket, pallungan. Usually a foot is made of a strip of rattan up to 3 cm. wide and about 1 cm. thick which stands on its edge. The following baskets have foot rims: a backpack, bangaw, hapē'eng; cooked-rice basket, hū'up; winnowing basket, pallungan. A rice-fermenting basket has a foot made of a whole piece of rattan.
