Main crop harvest-completion announcement day.
The announcement day is the day preceding the harvest-completion holiday, tūngaw di īwang. About early evening, nowod, the village agricultural head, haldot, assisted by ritualists, mumbā'i, living nearby, announces the coming holiday by standing in a prominent place in or near the various housing clusters, hīgib, and shouting, somewhat as follows:
``Donglonyun tatagu, ti āwad ad ugwan, at makak ayun pinādeng ya dumatong ya mangīli, ti tūngaw hi mā'et, at panīaw hi un ayu middum ay da'mi.''
``You, people, listen, because it is announcement day today, and so you place spirits, sickness-imparting spirits and visitors leave, because tomorrow is harvest-completion holiday, and so it is taboo for you to be with us.''
