A series of chanted prayers to Maggūoy and souls of the dead, nun'apuh.
Some prayers such as līgang and bonat are recited as ritual prayers addressed to Maggūoy; others such as hālag are extemporaneous discussions with Maggūoy or souls of the dead (who have possessed a medium), usually about sickness or other subjects of mutual interest. Sometimes Maggūoy is called to possess the body of a participant to ask Maggūoy the cause of a sickness, to have him hunt for a spirit of someone whose spirit is lost, to ask him to remove tiredness and listlessness.
For someone (actor maN-) to chant or pray to Maggūoy or souls of the dead, nun'apuh, accompanied by rice wine and a rice basket lid into which is placed areca palm nuts, pepper leaf, lime and tobacco.
