Tomb.
During All Souls Day every November 2, there is a table at
the center of the church which is called a tomba, tomb.
The table is covered with a black cloth on top of which is
placed a picture of a skeleton and a crucifix. Candles are
placed on the floor around the table, chanting takes place
and holy water is sprinkled on the table to honor the dead
souls. This is done before going to the cemetery. The
actual tombs or crypts in the cemetery are not called
tomba but rather pantion.
